WEST PALM BEACH, FL - Forte Interactive, Inc. announced today that the Bellin 10k Run —one of the nation’s largest 10k running events—has chosen Forte Interactive’s GoRun.org registration software as the platform for its 2012 race. The GoRun.org software will assist Bellin as it grows the number of registrants for the 2012 race, offering an improved experience for its registrants, greater administrative efficiencies, and improved features such as the new Give-A-Gift function released in time for the holidays.
GoRun.org, which is specifically designed for the unique needs of races, will register over 18,000 runners with a centralized database to enable better coordination of core race activities such as email campaigns, volunteer management, gift registration, and additional product sales.
35 Year History
As the Bellin Run moves into its 36th year, it will use the GoRun.org registration platform to maximize its operational resources by utilizing GoRun.org’s fast and easy online registration with a full service participant help desk, which will enable its staff and volunteers to focus on making the 2012 race day as momentous as it has been the past 35 years.
Volunteer Management
A race as large as Bellin would not be possible without the involvement of numerous volunteers. Bellin will use Gorun.org’s Volunteer Manager to simplify volunteer management, communication and sign-up for specific jobs and locations. The Volunteer manager is flexible enough to accommodate volunteer captain functions such as coordination and communication among registered individual volunteers and groups.
Give-A-Gift Feature for the Holidays
Registrants will find an added bonus to help them with their holiday shopping when registering for the Bellin Run this year . As part of its ongoing improvement to the Platform, GoRun.org has implemented a new “Give-A-Gift” Feature which will allow visitors to purchase registrations as a gift and email them to the recipient. The recipient can then redeem the gift registration easily online.
“The Bellin 10k is the type of race that strives to top themselves year after year, which makes them a perfect fit for GoRun.org” said Rob Anderson, Executive Vice President of Forte Interactive. “We are excited to be partnering with a race that has such a rich history of running and philanthropy.”

About the Bellin 10K Run
The Bellin Run, a 10K held annually in Green Bay, Wisconsin on the second Saturday in June, is one of the region’s premier sporting events and has grown to be one of the largest 10K races in the nation. The event was first held on June 12, 1977, and was known as the Bellin Heartwarming Run, to promote cardiovascular fitness. Intended to be a one-time event to celebrate an addition to Bellin Hospital, the run drew 881 participants and featured running great Frank Shorter. Early the next year, Bellin began receiving calls about the date for the next Bellin Run, so another was held – and a tradition was born.
In its 35 years, the Bellin Run has grown to inspire a growing number of individuals to engage in healthy habits. In 2011, the event drew 18,701 walkers, runners and wheelchair participants – the largest field ever. Those numbers have included running greats Bill Rodgers, Joan Samuelson, Bruce Bickford, Ed Eyestone, Joseph Kimani, Uta Pippig, Tegla Loroupe and many more elite athletes and Olympians. In addition to the participants, the other big winner of the Bellin Run is Bellin College. Since 1991, a portion of the registration fees has benefited the Belllin College Scholarship Fund. The total contribution has reached more than $140,000

A new running event will debut this winter in West Palm Beach, FL. The inaugural Sunshine State Races will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 in scenic West Palm Beach and is sponsored by WRMF radio 97.9 FM. The event will feature a half marathon and a 5k. The announcement was made today by Eident Sports Marketing and Forte Interactive.
“With his scenic water views and pristine neighborhoods, West Palm Beach is a beautiful venue to host the Sunshine State Races,” said John Mathews, president, Eident Sports Marketing. “By incorporating both a half marathon and a 5k, the Sunshine State Races offers something for runners of all levels.”
The Sunshine State Races half marathon and 5k will both start and finish at the Meyer Ampitheatre in West Palm Beach. The half marathon course will run on Flagler Drive past Palm Beach Atlantic University, El Cid and other waterfront neighborhoods. The course continues through SoSo and turns around just north of the Spillway. Runners continue on Flagler Drive past the Green Market before heading back to finish at the Meyer Ampitheatre.
By participating in the Sunshine State Races, runners will also be making strides for those less fortunate. Over 1,700 children in the Palm Beach County School District are homeless and over 50 percent of children are receiving free or reduced price lunches, with that number increasing to over 95 percent in the Glades area. Thus, a portion of the proceeds from the Sunshine State Races will benefit various nonprofit organizations whose mission is to end hunger in Palm Beach County.
“We are excited to be part of the Sunshine State Races because it combines three of our company’s loves – running, online technology and helping nonprofits.” said Robert Anderson, VP and Co-Founder of Forte interactive, Inc.
